His music education began with classical guitar in high school, which covered music theory, ear training, and arranging. Shortly after picking up classical guitar, he began to play electric bass. He started taking private guitar and bass lessons with Jeff Solohub along with his school lessons. After graduating from high school he attended Tallahassee Community College. There he continued to study guitar, music theory, and ear training. After completing his Associate Arts degree, he auditioned at Florida State University’s School Of Music playing classical guitar. He also began studying electric bass/ stand up bass at F.S.U.

Attending college in the same town you grew up in definitely has advantages. Throughout his musical career he performed and jammed with some great musicians. One of them being Justin Brogdon, who he jammed with and eventually formed a band. Since then they have evolved from a trio to a five-piece band. Now the band is complete and the chemistry continues to grow.
